I believe students should be able to access computer games in their free time at school because the games provide various learning opportunities for the students. Right at the top are basic "real-life" social skills.
It has been my observation that the competive games require a high degree of social interaction, which they would otherwise have to learn and/or hone elsewhere. I like the idea that, as a teacher, I get to observe the display of social skills and can comment on them as they are taking place - both good and bad!
Therefore, it is my opinion, the school system needs to review their position on the use of games in classrooms once again!
